This year I decided to research the history, process and intricacies of nostalgic sounding indie music from the 2000s-2010s. I focused on the idea of listening to a song that you’ve never heard before but still getting that feeling of familiarity. I dove deep researching what makes these songs feel this way and during my second term I taught myself to make music in that style for my steel skies project.

I designed two booklets, one cataloguing certain artists and songs that match the vibe I am going for, and the other going into what the process of producing a nostalgic indie song is possibly like.
